Calcium is, by default, one of the most essential minerals for human health. It is critical to building strong bones and teeth and keeping skin healthy.
When Calcium levels are deficient in the body, the parathyroid gland may remove Calcium from bones to support the function of cells. This means that the bones then become weak.
Calcium deficiency has also been linked to skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema. Calcium works with the epidermis to produce sebum that helps the skin maintain its natural moisture. That’s why a lack of Calcium in the long term can lead to fragile, thin skin, brittle nails, inflammation and hair loss.
The RDA for Calcium is 1000 mg for most adults. My Strawberry Moringa Calcium Smoothie will help you cover over 50% of your daily Calcium intake, isn’t great?

The smoothie consists of seven naturally Calcium-rich ingredients, which also provide a wide variety of other essential nutrients that work together with Calcium and help its absorption.
For example, nutrients like Magnesium, Vitamin C and K can all be found in substantial amounts in this smoothie, supporting Calcium absorption and optimising its uses in the body.
The top Calcium-rich source in this smoothie is Moringa powder, which I like to add to my smoothies and homemade matcha drinks. Moringa is a nutritional powerhouse, providing seven times more vitamin C than oranges, ten times more vitamin A than carrots, and 17 times more Calcium than milk!
Moringa makes an incredible smoothie booster, especially if you want to increase your Calcium intake
