We discovered this lemongrass and lime iced tea drink during our last trip to Kuala Lumpur in 2019, where we found some exceptional Taiwanese food at Din Tai Fung restaurant. I don’t know how we managed to avoid that place for so long, as I later discovered that Din Tai Fung is a big international brand with restaurants worldwide. So if you appreciate beautifully crafted little dishes, you must try them out!

Lemongrass and lime iced tea was on the restaurant’s drink menu, quickly becoming my favourite drink. It was so refreshing and delicious that I had to recreate it at home

Lemongrass contains a lot of essential nutrients that are vital for healthy body function. This antifungal and anti-microbial herb includes a whole spectrum of vitamins like vitamin A, B vitamins, vitamin C, folate, potassium, magnesium, zinc and even iron!

Drinking herbal tea is the easiest way to incorporate lemongrass into your diet. That kind of tea is free from caffeine and has a soothing effect on your stomach. In addition, its citral component helps digest food, making it a perfect after-dinner drink.

Infused hot water with lemongrass is also a great cleansing drink full of antioxidants. Add it to your diet plan to boost your metabolism and well-being. Another great reason to make this tea at home is to fill your house with a delightful smell of lemongrass. Its calming and mild scent will help to relax you.

Lemongrass And Lime Herbal Iced Tea

The easiest way to incorporate lemongrass into your diet is to drink herbal lemongrass tea. That kind of tea is free from caffeine and has a soothing effect on your stomach. 
Course Drinks
Calories 130 kcal


  • 1 L water
  • 1 bunch lemongrass chopped
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 4 wheels lime


  • Bring the water to a boil over high heat.
  • Add chopped lemongrass and boil for five minutes. 
  • Add chopped lemongrass and boil for five minutes. Reduce the heat and boil some more.
  • Add honey and stir until dissolved.
  • Let it cool down and then strain the stalks from the liquid. Pour it over ice and add lime. Enjoy!
