Hello + Welcome!

I have always been intrigued by papaya’s health benefits, but like many, I didn’t find the taste too appealing to eat it often. However, it quickly changed after I tried making a papaya boat, and now I can’t get enough! This fruit makes a perfect breakfast or dessert. All you have to do is add your favourite toppings!

Papaya is one of the best sources of highly bioavailable beta-carotene (pro-vitamin A), essential for growth, immune system function and skin health. It is also high in vitamin C, which is a crucial antioxidant.

It also contains the enzyme papain, which is a powerful digestive aid. Therefore, a papaya boat can be an excellent way to start your day by cleansing your stomach and helping your digestive system function smoothly.

Down below, I have listed my favourite toppings to use in papaya boat for you to pick:

Overnight Chia

Coconut Yoghurt

Frozen Berries (Strawberries, Blueberries, Raspberries, Mulberries)

Tahini

Peanut Butter

Granola

Nuts

Seeds (Sesame, Ground Flaxseed, Hemp seeds, Pumpkin seeds)

Fruit (Banana, Kiwi, Mango, Peach, Pineapple)

Nice Cream (Vegan Ice Cream)

Raw Cacao

Cocoa Nibs

Honey

Date Syrup

Ingredients

Papaya boat 1:

  • 1/2 papaya
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp lime juice

Papaya boat 2:

  • 1/2 papaya
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • 2 tbsp frozen berries
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tsp cacao
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp honey

Instructions

  • For the best experience, I recommend you to store your papaya in the fridge before using. When papaya is cold, it resembles the sorbet texture.
  • Cut papaya in half. Spoon out the seeds to create a small bowl.
  • Fill in the papaya with the toppings of your choice. I usually start with tahini or peanut butter, followed by banana topped with frozen berries, seeds, raw cacao, honey or lime juice.
  • Enjoy immediately!
